The Key Qualities to Your Personal Creative Success - January Blog 4

Let's get straight to this and unpick the first quality for personal success.

Key Quality No. 1 to Your Personal Success

1.    Clarity

What do you want whilst you’re alive and able?

How do you want to contribute and be remembered?

Do these answers roll off your tongue?

Or could you do with a little thinking time?

Whichever it is, you’re going to need to make a decision because only when you do can your clarity journey fully begin.

Some of you have absolutely no idea of the power of being clear.

Others kinda get it but have little inclination about how to milk it.

Well, here’s a clue…

Make. A. Decision!

When you make a decision, you create clear thoughts, leading to clear direction.

It's not about making right decisions though, is it?

It’s about making decisions, right?

When you have clear direction, you create clear goals.

Did you know that only 5% of people have specific and clear goals? Are you truly happy being one of the 95% who don’t?

So let’s start to realise that with a clear decision comes a clear goal enabling a clear focus for yourself.

A clear focus becomes your vision and I truly believe that without a vision you die just a little some place deep inside.

I truly believe this.

No vision usually means no dream.

No dream means you're walking dead every single day with little or no purpose.

So let’s get down to the nuts and bolts of your being.

Do you have a dream?

Are you scared to realise it?

Do you feel like you could…

do more..

be more..

give more..

live more?

Are you reining it all in due to fear?

Have your everyday responsibilities got you thinking that this is your lot?

That nothing can change because you’re right in the thick of it and too deep??

Do you find your heart singing when you think about or do a particular something?

Do you just not know how to get started?

Take a breath…

I remember feeling this way when I worked in music production.

I really loved meeting the international musicians and being backstage at premier venues with them but once all the operational stuff was organised and everyone and everything was in place, it all started to feel a bit soulless.

I mean, was I really contributing to the artists directly even though they expressed a value of my service to them?

I wanted more depth to what I offered.

The work was long hours, stagnant pay and a bit once removed. I didn’t really build relationships with the artists.

More with their management and as much as I loved producing and creating banter between us, I just wanted more interaction with the artists themselves. I somehow wanted to support the implementation of their daily shifts.

I didn’t know this at the time though… it was just a feeling.

Do you ever feel this way?

So, in spite of all the unresolved emotions and resistances from within, I plodded on in music stage production, afraid to make a move because I hadn’t actually asked myself what I wanted.

…and I couldn’t make a decision on a thought I hadn’t explored.

I now realise that without a decision, the future is just an unknown entity surrounded by fear.

Yes, fear….

The mind’s way of telling you that you need to prepare for something that’s approaching. Something that’s been neglected, ignored or avoided.

I didn’t know it at the time but something was approaching for me and I needed to make a decision before it could enter my life.

So, here’s a question for you.

What do you need to make a decision about to gain clarity in your world?

What are your fears?

Do you recognise them?

Can you hear the messages they’re telling you?

I invite you to start listening now because when you don't, the messages just get louder and louder.

Think of a screaming child being ignored by its carer.

Maybe they’re already screaming at you.

Continue to ignore them and worst case scenario is negative mental health.

My mission as a Master Coach to Creatives is to bring a heightened awareness to the power of the mind and to contribute towards a reduction in negative mental health within an uncertain creative industry.

I pledge to support creativepreneurs in seeing and realising their full potential. To assist them in staying driven, focused and unstoppable with positive mental health and a balanced body.

So re-read this blog if you need to.

Notice what thoughts come up for you.

Then make a decision.

Ask yourself…

What do I need to prepare for?

What clarity do I need to create?

Who am I?

Who do I wish to be?

What do I presently have that serves me and what must I get rid of?

What's missing?

Where am I going?

What action do I need to take to get there?

You may have heard that successful people leave footprints.
